Terms of Use
Last updated October 21, 2026. These terms apply to accounts made from that date. Accounts made earlier stay on the previous version until we notify them of a change; ask us for a copy.
These terms are the agreement between you and Kevin Nam, who runs Dispo88 as an individual (“we”, “us”). They cover the website (dispo88.com), the iOS app and the App Clip. By using Dispo88 you accept them and our Privacy Policy. Questions: [email protected].
1. What Dispo88 is
Dispo88 is a shared disposable camera. Someone makes a camera and shares its link or QR code; guests take photos on their phones; the photos develop for a while, then appear in the camera's album. The person who makes a camera is its owner (or host); people who take photos with it are guests.
2. Who can use it
- You must be 14 or older to make an account. Children under 14 may take photos as guests only with a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Keep your sign-in to yourself; you're responsible for what happens in your account.
- If you use Dispo88 for a company or client, you confirm you may accept these terms for them.
3. Your photos
- They stay yours. You keep every right to the photos you take.
- To run Dispo88, you give us a worldwide, free, non-exclusive permission to store, process (the film look, resizing, grid copies, reels and exports), and show your photos to the people who can see the camera's album, as section 4 of the Privacy Policy describes. We use them for nothing else: no advertising, no training, no sale. The permission ends when a photo is deleted.
- When you take a photo on someone's camera, its owner can see, keep, download, share, hide and delete it, and so can the people they share the album with.
4. The people in your photos
- Only photograph people who are fine with it, and respect the rules of the place you're in.
- For children, have a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Owners:you decide who gets your camera's link, whether guests see each other's photos, and what stays in your album. Tell your guests the album is shared, and remove a photo when someone in it asks you to.
5. What's not allowed
We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Don't use Dispo88 to:
- share anything illegal, or any sexual content involving a minor (we report it to the authorities);
- share nudity or sexual content, or intimate images of anyone without their consent;
- harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone, or share hateful or violent content;
- infringe someone's privacy, copyright or other rights;
- send spam or malware, scrape albums, guess camera links, get around limits, overload the service, or try to get into accounts or cameras that aren't yours.
Reporting and blocking.Anyone viewing a photo can report it from the full-screen viewer; a reported photo is hidden from everyone but the camera's owner at once. Owners can hide or delete any photo and block a guest. You can also write to [email protected]; we act on reports of objectionable content promptly, usually within 24 hours, by removing the content and, where it's warranted, the account responsible.
Copyright. To report a photo that uses your work without permission, write to [email protected] with a link to it and what you own.
6. Keeping your photos
We keep photos until they're deleted. But no online service can rule out every loss or outage, so keep your own copy of photos that matter (you can download them, and Event cameras can export the whole album). If we ever close Dispo88, we'll tell owners at least 30 days ahead so they can download their photos.
7. Plans and payments
- Free: up to 88 photos per camera, and a shared album.
- Crew (CA$8.88): unlimited photos.
- Event (CA$39):everything in Crew, plus the QR poster builder, a custom hint for guests, a per-guest photo limit, a password, locking the camera, exporting every photo, choosing the develop time (10 minutes to 24 hours), a live slideshow, and allowing photos from guests' photo libraries.
The Pricingpage shows what each plan includes; what you buy is what it showed when you paid. An upgrade is a one-time payment for one camera, made by the camera's owner on our website through Stripe, in Canadian dollars. The price shown at checkout is the total you pay. It stays with that camera for as long as the camera exists, and doesn't move to another camera.
Refunds.An upgrade applies the moment it's paid, so it's final once the camera is upgraded, including if you later delete the camera. If a paid feature doesn't work as described and we can't fix it, write to [email protected]and we'll refund it. This doesn't limit any right you have under consumer protection law.
Lifetime Premium is no longer sold. Existing members keep Event features on the cameras they make, for as long as Dispo88 runs.
8. Ending your use
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page; the Privacy Policy explains what that deletes. We may remove content or suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. Except in a serious or urgent case, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to download your photos.
9. Our responsibility
- We provide Dispo88 with care, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.
- We're not responsible for what users photograph or share, or for how people with an album's link use its photos.
- We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages at our providers.
- Where the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for our own intentional or gross fault, or for anything the law doesn't allow us to exclude, or takes away rights you have as a consumer, including under Quebec's Consumer Protection Act.
- Where the law allows, you're responsible for claims against us caused by content you share or by your breaking these terms.
10. Our name and app
The Dispo88 name, logo, design and software belong to us. Using Dispo88 doesn't give you rights to them, beyond using the service.
11. Apple
If you use the iOS app or App Clip: these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to support the app and isn't responsible for it or for claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce these terms as a third party. You also agree to the App Store's own terms.
12. Changes to these terms
We may change only these parts of the terms: the plans, what they include and their prices (for future purchases; an upgrade you paid for keeps what it included), the features of the service, the rules of use (sections 2 to 5), and how long and where photos and data are kept. If we change them in a way that affects you, we'll email account holders and post a notice on the site at least 30 days before the change applies. The notice will show the new wording and the old, and when it applies. If you don't accept it, you can refuse by deleting your account, at no cost, before then. Changes that only benefit you, or that the law requires, may apply sooner.
13. Disputes
Write to [email protected] first; most problems are solved there. These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and of Canada that apply there. Disputes go to the courts of Quebec, unless the law lets you bring a claim where you live. Nothing here takes away your right to go to court, or to join a class action where the law allows.
14. The rest
- These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement about Dispo88.
- If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right now doesn't mean giving it up.
- We may transfer these terms to a new owner of Dispo88, who must keep them.
- These terms are available in French and English, and both versions are equally valid. You chose to read them in English.
