A ski trip with friends splits up constantly. Half the group's on the black runs, two people are in lessons, someone's in the lodge with a hot chocolate and a sore knee. Everybody's taking photos of a different part of the day, and those photos almost never end up together.
One shared camera fixes that, and it's great at the cabin afterwards too.
How it works
Create a Dispo88 camera before the trip and share the link in the group chat. Everyone opens it on their phone and shoots. No app, no account, and every photo goes into the same album.
Each photo develops for an hour before it shows up. On a ski day, that means the morning's photos are ready by lunch, and the afternoon's are ready when you're back at the cabin.
Shots worth getting
- Gear-up chaos in the cabin or the parking lot
- The lift. Everyone looks great on a chairlift.
- Someone mid-wipeout (with their permission later)
- The view from the top
- Lodge lunch, goggle tans and all
- Cabin nights: dinner, board games, the hot tub
Practical tips
Cold drains phone batteries fast. Keep your phone in an inside pocket and take it out for the shot.
Gloves and touchscreens don't mix. Touchscreen gloves, or a quick glove-off, make shooting easier.
Signal can be spotty on the mountain. Dispo88 works best with Wi-Fi and/or cellular signal. Open the camera link at the lodge before you head up.
Which tier?
A weekend trip with a group usually needs more than the free 88 photos. Crew ($8.88 CAD, one time for the camera) gives you unlimited photos, and everyone can browse every photo from the trip. Pricing details
After the trip
The album's already built. Make a Memory Reel of the best runs and cabin nights: a short vertical video made in your browser, with no watermark.
