What are the camera tiers?

Each camera has its own tier: Free (up to 88 photos), Crew ($5 one-time — unlimited photos and full shareable album), or Event ($39 one-time — everything in Crew plus guest hint, QR poster, password protection, photo export, and camera lock). Upgrades are per-camera.

How do I upgrade a camera?

From the camera page, tap the upgrade prompt — or go to the camera's settings page and tap 'Upgrade this camera.' The upgrade is a one-time payment and applies instantly.

Do guests need to download an app to use Dispo88?

No. Dispo88 runs entirely in the browser. Guests just open the shared link or scan the QR code — no app download needed.

How do I password-protect my camera?

Available on Event cameras. Go to the camera's settings page, enable Password protection, and set a password. Guests will be asked to enter it before they can take photos.

How do I export all my photos?

Available on Event cameras. Go to the camera's settings page and tap 'Export all photos.' All developed photos will be downloaded as a zip file.

We wanted to share a bit about where things are headed — what's changing with pricing, what's coming for the product, and what we think makes Dispo88 special for the kinds of moments it's built for.

How pricing is changing

Up until now, we've offered a single Lifetime Premium deal: $39 CAD once, and every camera you ever create is fully unlocked — unlimited photos, album sharing, everything.

That deal is ending soon.

Going forward, we're switching to a per-camera upgrade model. Instead of one flat fee for your whole account, you pay to unlock individual cameras based on what you need for that specific moment.

We built the Event tier with one kind of moment in mind: the ones that matter.

Weddings. Brand activations. Conferences. Product launches. Parties where you actually want a record of what happened.

When you're hosting something like that, you want people to just pick up their phone and shoot — no friction, no limits. And you want a camera that's set up for the occasion, not just a generic link you text around.

Event cameras give you:

QR code + printable poster — drop a link and people won't find it. Print a postcard-sized QR poster, stick it at the bar or on the table, and guests scan it in two seconds. Three poster styles, fully customizable colors and copy.
Unlimited photos — obvious, but worth saying. Nobody runs out at the worst moment.
Full album sharing — after the night, everyone gets access to the whole album. Download, share, relive it.
Custom guest hint — set a message that guests see before they shoot. "Capture the couple!" or "Behind the scenes only — keep it candid." Little touch, makes a difference.
Custom photo development time — photos don't appear instantly. You control the delay. Keep the anticipation going until the event wraps, or set a custom reveal time that fits your vibe.

What we're building next for Event tier

We have several things in progress that we're genuinely excited about.

Livemode is the one we can't wait to ship. When you're running an event camera, you'll get a live dashboard showing you who's taking photos, how many shots have been taken, and — the fun part — a live presentation view where newly developed photos appear on screen in real time. Think of it like a photobooth slideshow, but it's everyone's camera. Put it on a TV at the venue. Watch the night unfold.

Export all photos is coming too, and it's bigger than it sounds. One click, every photo from your camera downloaded as a zip. No hunting through the album, no saving one-by-one. For events with dozens of guests and hundreds of shots, this is the thing that makes the day after actually enjoyable.

Password protection — set a password on your camera so only the people you want shooting can join. Great for private events where you don't want strangers stumbling in via a shared QR code.

More camera customization options are also on the way — per-guest photo limits (great for managed events where you want fairness), choosing your own photo development delay, and more ways to set the tone for your guests before they shoot.

We're also exploring full camera re-branding for bigger brand events — custom colors, logos, and styling so the camera feels like it belongs to your event, not a third-party app. Nothing to announce yet, but it's on our radar.

What happens to Lifetime?

If you already have Lifetime Premium — nothing changes. You keep everything, forever. Every camera you create is automatically Event tier. You're locked in at the original deal and we're grateful for your early support.
