**In short:** yes, there are free disposable camera apps, and none of them need guests to download anything. **Dispo88** is free for up to 88 photos per camera, with no limit on guests or on how many cameras you make. **POV** is free for events of up to 10 guests, and **Scene** for up to 5 guests (your first 5 events). A shared Google Photos or iCloud album is free too, but photos show up instantly, so it doesn't feel like a disposable.

We make Dispo88, so keep that in mind. Everything about the other apps comes from their own websites as of October 2026; free plans change, so check before your event.

## Dispo88: free with no guest limit

Dispo88 is a disposable camera you share with a link or QR code. Everyone shoots from their own phone's browser, with no app and no account, and each photo develops for an hour before it lands in the album.

![Three Dispo88 screens: a camera's QR code ready to share, a guest taking a photo, and the shared album filling up](https://dispo88.com/images/blog/app/free-camera-three-steps-2026.webp)

*Share the QR code, everyone shoots, and the photos land in one album. All on the free plan.*

What's free, on every camera:

- **Up to 88 photos,** from any number of guests (that's where the name comes from).
- **A link and a QR code** to share the camera.
- **A shared album.** Everyone sees every photo.
- **Memory Reels:** a short video from your favourite photos, with no watermark.
- **No time limit.** Photos are kept until you delete them, and you can make as many free cameras as you like.

*Each photo develops for an hour, like film, then shows up sharp in the album.*

*One shared album for everyone's photos.*

Best for: groups of any size where 88 photos is enough, like a dinner, a birthday or a weekend away.

## POV: free for small events

[POV](https://pov.camera/) is a disposable camera app built around events. Its pricing page lists events of up to 10 guests as free, with bigger events priced by guest count. Guests join from a QR code: an App Clip on iPhone, a web version on Android. The host decides when photos are revealed.

Best for: a small group that wants the whole album revealed at a set time.

## Scene: free for your first few small events

[Scene](https://scenedisposable.com/disposable-camera-app) runs in the browser with no download or account. It's free for events of up to 5 guests, and each account gets 5 free events; after that, paid events start at $2.99 for up to 10 guests. The host picks when photos unlock, and how many shots each guest gets.

Best for: a very small group, once or twice.

## A shared Google Photos or iCloud album

Free and familiar, and good for collecting everyone's camera rolls afterwards. But photos appear the moment they're uploaded, and people add them after the event, if they remember.

Best for: dumping photos people already took.

## Which free one should you use?

- **More than 10 people, and you don't want to pay:** Dispo88. Its free plan has no guest limit.
- **5 to 10 people, and you want one big reveal:** POV.
- **5 people or fewer, a one-off:** any of them works.
- **You just need somewhere to put photos afterwards:** a shared album.

## When it's worth paying

If 88 photos won't be enough (a wedding, a big party), a Dispo88 camera can be upgraded once, with no subscription and no charge per guest: Crew is $8.88 CAD for unlimited photos, and Event is $39 CAD for everything in Crew plus a printable QR poster, a password, a live slideshow and a zip of every photo.
